Autism Support Guide

I’m here for parents whose child was just diagnosed. This is a free, calm place for clear information, emotional support, and practical tips. Nothing replaces your child’s doctors or therapists, but you do not have to figure everything out alone.

Your Child Has Autism — What Helps Right Now

You are already doing the most important thing

You are paying attention. You love your child. That matters more than any perfect plan. A diagnosis does not change who your child is. It gives you better language and tools to support them.

It is normal to feel shocked, sad, overwhelmed, or even relieved. All of those can be true at the same time. You do not have to have everything figured out today.

What autism is (simple and accurate)

Autism is a neurodevelopmental difference. It affects how a person processes sensory information, communicates, and handles change. It is a spectrum — every child is different. There is no single cause and no single “look.”

Many autistic children also have strengths: deep focus, honesty, pattern recognition, memory, and intense interests that can become gifts.

First practical steps

Meltdowns vs. tantrums

Meltdowns are usually overload, not willful defiance. The child is overwhelmed and cannot process more input. Safety first, reduce sensory load, stay calm, say very little, and wait. Punishment usually makes it worse. Recovery takes time.

Trusted free resources

These are starting points. Always check with your child’s medical team for advice specific to them.

Make this Sim yours

These are Sims, not legacy Sims. A legacy Sim is fixed and static. This Sim can be customized by you: your own API key, your own face, and your own personality instruction.

Use your own API key if you wish. DeepSeek is the default here, with a preloaded API already active. Grok is an option, not a requirement. Open the chat and use the key box there, then press Save key. Your saved key is stored in this browser only and is used for DeepSeek answers here. Note: this page's live API call uses DeepSeek, so a Grok key alone will not work here unless you get a Grok-enabled copy.

Change the face. Choose your own picture below. It replaces the face on this page, in this browser only, and is not uploaded anywhere.

Change the personality. Write how you want this guide to sound or behave, then press Save personality. That instruction is actually sent with the API prompt, so it changes API answers. It does not change the free keyword fallback answers, which are fixed text.
